Old Town Walking Tour by Malopolska PKS

The medieval Old Town, the Wawel Hill with it’s castle and cathedral. We will start on the Main Market Square at the Cloth Hall, getting acquainted with the history and mystery behind one of the most beautiful squares in Europe. We will continue on to the old buildings of the Jagiellonian University, where Nicolas Copernicus and the legendary Dr Faustus both studied. Amongst these is Collegium Maius with its Gothic courtyard. Walking through All Saints' Square with its Gothic Dominican and Franciscan churches, we will stroll along the Royal Route to Wawel Hill, where in the arcaded courtyard of the castle we will hear about the history of this former residence of Polish kings and princes. Then on to Wawel Cathedral - the coronation church of the kings of Poland, which contains the royal tombs. On our way back to the Main Square for a coffee break, we will go down the charming Kanonicza Street and see St. Mary's Church with its famous altar designed by Veit Stoss.
